Happy happy day...

I've been spending a lot of time alone, writing and rewriting
and fine tuning the novel I'm currently working on.

However, there are days that make it all worthwhile. For me, this is one of them.

The Silver Compass has been delivered and accepted and put into production with copy editing. For about an hour, I felt like this...

But that quickly changed,
and then I found myself feeling like this...

... taking a few minutes to daydream about holding the book itself (voila!) which will be out April 1, 2008.

Now I'm off to prepare (picture me bracing here) for upwards of 250 kids tonight as Halloween descends on my neighborhood. No joke, last year we got 287 kids!

Over 250?!?!?! You are way (way, way, way) braver than I am!

You count? I'm hiding tonight. Dad's taking kids out, I'm picking up the dog from the vet. I just hope the RV doesn't get egged...

This is a best example I can think of that explains why I love living on the 18th floor of an apt building! No halloweeners come knocking!

Hurray, Holly! You must now (Thursday morning) be relieved to have survived it all. :)

We had a Halloween street party where I confess I had more beer than chocolate...but not too much of that either: I'm now at about seven weeks to deadline, so it's back to work for me.

Congratulations on having another novel gone to press. Good job!

I just love that cover!

We had no kids stop by last night for candy - it was too cold. :0(

Karen -- so nice of you to pop by! How is everyone in Winnipeg?

Ramona -- Thanks for your support :)

Travis -- Yup, it is always an interesting Halloween at my house. We actually got 249 kids this year, down 30 from last year

Maprilynne -- I had help, thank heavens. However, our front door pretty much stays 'propped open' on Halloween, it's so busy.

Zany Mom -- With that many kids, yes, we count! That's 1/2 the fun.
We also BET on how many will show.

Wordman17 -- You don't know what you're missing.

Wendy -- How are things at your end on the writing side?

Holly Kennedy said...

ORION -- You and your boat. You kill me.

Therese -- Nice to hear from you. I hope your WIP is going well. It's never easy to lock out the rest of the world when the writing needs to get done, is it?

Larramie -- I know. April will be here before we know it. Unreal, huh?

Ladybronco -- Thanks for the compliment. It's starting to grow on me, too.

Kyla-dale - Thanks for your support.

And Adam, I'd be so honored to have you buy it for your wife's birthday!

Maryanne and Anti-Wife -- Thanks for stopping by. Hopefully, now that the novel is done, I can start posting more often and come out of my cave!
