Thanks for coming out you guys. You were a great crowd! Next year I'll bring my own microphone, okay? My hubby has promised to buy me a portable one for Christmas :)
Next up, I'm off to Cleveland...
If you live nearby, please join us for a reading/signing this Thursday, April 17th at 7:00 pm at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Legacy Village, 24519 Cedar Road in Lyndhurst, east of Cleveland.

Holly,
It was so great to see you on Thursday. Too bad we didn't have longer to visit. Maybe I might have to come to Calgary one time with mom. Hope your other readings go well and you don't lose your voice.
I was so entertained by you in St. Albert, even without a microphone. What a delight to finally meet you and doubly so to learn that you are as likeable in person as you are on your blog.
P.S. I'm on page 186 of Silver Compass and it really is wonderful!

You should write some stories about your escapades "on the road" as an author!! Broken finger. Losin your voice. Trekking from point A to Z with a suitcase.
Have fun in OHIO
I always enjoy your readings, Holly. You make em funny but also so full of info about writing and publishing I find fascinating.
Thanks for coming to Athabasca again this year.
I hope to see you again in 2009

I lost my voice too on the weekend! I hate when that happens. I can talk today, barely, but I won't be able to teach a lesson like this.
I think if I let myself get too run down/ tired, and then get a cold at the same time, the voice goes. Maybe I've been having too much excitement lately...!
Maybe you have too????
Hope you're doing well! Good luck with your mic search.
I've heard those portable
microphones are great.
Look into one that
clips over your ear.
That'd be handy!
Thanks for letting us know the life of a rockstar (or the literary equivalent) isn't all groupies and glamor.
I see you up front with a toy Fisher Price microphone!
I emailed my peeps in Cleveland. Good luck. Legacy Village is beautiful. Enjoy!

Can't wait to meet you
this Thursday night!
See you at 7 p.m.

Have a great time Holly - drink lots of tea with lemon and honey and uh some whiskey or brandy...actually forget the tea, lemon and honey...go straight for the booze.
Wow. Chicago to St.Albert to Cleaveland to Winnipeg... The thrilling life of an author on tour!
I hope your throat feels better soon.
I'm too far away. If only I were closer to Cleveland. Have a great time, Holly! :*)
See yah next week in
Winnipeg, Holly! I can't
wait to read your new book.
Have fun in Cleveland.
It seems like you're having
a good book tour. I hope so
anyway!
Too bad you couldn't
fly up here to Alaska and give a group of us something to look forward to!
Hope your voice has returned! I've never lost mine at a speaking engagement yet although I'm sure many people wish I would. I tend to use my outdoor 'mom' voice when speaking to a crowd and should probably provide ear plugs LOL!
Gad, I hate typos, lol! So here's an edited version of my inspired post:
A belated congratulations on your book's arrival in bookstores, Holly! Hope you're feeling much better soon, K.
Woohoo! Error-free...I hope! And now I see the problem...WAY past my bedtime. ;)
Oh, Holly! I wanted to come. I let some manipulative kid ruin my night, and I felt I had to deal with it then, unfortunately. She wanted something, so completely ALTERED our "conversations" in the lesson to get what she wanted. I felt I had to clear up the truth with the parent. When will I learn?
