Here's the Danish cover for The Penny Tree, which came out Jan 9/09. I love the cover art, though I've no idea what salgsomslag means! I tried to translate it online but got nowhere. Maybe it was intended it to be a subliminal marketing message that didn't come out right in the print process. You know the kind, right? Like how movie theatres were once accused of flashing buy popcorn / buy popcorn / buy popcorn at lightning speed across the screen during previews, only this was supposed to say buy this book / buy this book! *LOL*On a final note, I just finished reading two novels I've been meaning to read for years. The first was The Dogs of Babel and the second The Bell Jar, an iconic novel that tackles the serious issue of depression and mental health. Both were beautifully written. Holly, I was sitting in the bath tub reading the Silver Compass and all of a sudden I put the book down...you can guess why I knew something was funny as I kept thinking about the things that emerged and names that were appearing and I was thinking hmmm how wierd...it can't...."Oh my god, this is Holly's book!"
It was sooo wonderful and I savoured each page, since then I have passed on the book to others and I so look forward to reading more of your books. Hugs to your sibs and parents. Keep up the great work!!

I don't meant to diss it but I really found Dogs of Babel upsetting. Nicely written, but not my kind of book. Suicide; dog mutilation. Very odd and not uplifting in any way.
When a book disturbs me I often think that the author has succeeded in a profound way. They have taken words and made me feel uncomfortable and I am fascinated how this can be accomplished. To me it would be much worse to feel ambivalent about a book.

I´m from Norway so I kind of understand what "salgsomslag" means.
Salg means sale, and omslag means bookcover, so sales-bookcover.
I dunno exactly what that´s supposed to mean, but I am sure it´s only for internal use and won´t be on the books that actually are for sale.
