Penny Tree update...

The Penny Tree will be out in book stores one month from tomorrow and sub-rights were recently sold to Doubleday Book Club and the Literary Guild, who are featuring it as an alternative book club pick on the following dates:

Doubleday Book Club: April 3-16
Literary Guild: April 3-29
Large Print: April 3rd
Rhapsody as part of the "fiction favorites" flyer: April/May

For your interest, I've included a photo of the full cover (front and back). Notice how they put little pennies down the spine?

The pennies on the spine are awesome! It's the attention to detail that makes all the difference. Stunning! Love it. :)

Gorgeous! Love it! Can't wait to Cyber-Launch it! Linnea Sinclair's Cyber-Launch went pretty well. I'm on my way over to my blog to hold the drawing for the t-shirt.

I am so pleased for you on the sub rights AND the cover (as you know)!!

One thing I love about the paperbacks is how much creativity and flexibility there is in the design.

When my website's up, I'll have my UK cover displayed there--it has an evocative back cover like THE PENNY TREE has, and I'm really tickled.

I know the publishers are designing these covers based on marketing appeal, but I can't help feeling like they're also taking good care of their authors. :-)

Wicked stuff. Sub-rights with two book clubs? I thought those guys only bought rights to the BIG AUTHORS books? Very kewl, either way.

That is an absolutely beautiful cover, Holly. Congratulations!

It's a 5 star keeper to me!!!!!
I pre-ordered my copy last week. Any hints on what happens in the story? Must be good to have both b/clubs buy s/rights and to have W/World pick it up. A friend of mine works for that magazine and she said they only pick 2 each month but get 100s and 100s to pick from!!!!!!

Holly, I used to work for you in Edmonton in 1986-89!!! Last month I ran into someone who told me you were writing, that you were really doing well at it too (no huge surprise). But then I clicked on your website and...
Un-be-lievable!!!!!
I can't wait to talk with you offline. Check your email.

It's a beautiful cover! I admit, I judge books by the cover.

But most of all, I enlarged and read the back cover and now I reeeeeally want to read the whole book!
